Just made these carving tools for a young friend of mine who has shown an interest in spoon carving.

The knife is made from steel from a Landrover leaf spring, 45mm long blade and teak handle. The hook knife is from the same steel, with a cherry handle.

Thanks for looking, any comments appreciated.

Nice job
Does your friend have a specific use for that shape of hook knife?
If that design is for general spoon carving I think I would find it difficult to use although I can it being useful for finishing a Kuksa.

The shape of the hook knife is a copy of one I made for my own use, and I arrived at that shape more or less by accident. I seem to get on alright with it, but I have never used any other hook knives (I used to use a spoon bent gouge). But you are right, it is good for finishing in deep hollows.
Thanks for all the positive comments!
