Just thought I'd make you all aware that Tesco, in their 'Xmas gifts for Dads' selection, have alongside a claw hammer with bottle opener, a rather nice little Torch set.
It consists of a 2-AA aluminium maglite-a-like of fair quality sporting a 3W Luxeon LED, and a little 1-AAA keyring torch that's not too hot, frankly.
The set is selling for £10, but in my local store was discounted today to £7.50.
Now the build quality is fair-to-middling, but it has O-rings and a tail switch for convenience.
It needs a bit more checking out, but in a side-by-side comparison with my Luxeon modded maglite, the tesco jobbie was far brighter, and for a tenner, ( includes duracells BTW ) you can't really moan.
Worth a look I reckon.
