The wood is Tulip Wood given to me by a woodwork teacher from our local school - via one their pupils who is a member of our Am Dram society.....

For the last 2 days I've been pottering about carving a spoon with a heart on but it's nothing compared to yours. Out of this world and very difficult to do!

I agree that the shape is difficult to carve - I found I needed 3 differing spoonknives at different times - but the Tulip wood carves very easily ....thank goodness!
