A great meet, thanks to all those who attended. We managed to clear a large area of Holly and other saplings that had taken over. This opened up big areas of the canopy letting the light flood in to promote new understory. of course as we proceed we will leave large areas of natural habitat for the wildlife and at the same time create plenty hanging or floor space for ourselves. The brash that was created was fired and burnt away completely leaving us with logs to season for our communal firepit. And of course there is always time for a bushcraft car boot!
lots more work party's will be needed to make headway into this lovely woodland, so given enough interest i intend to organise these meets on a monthly basis for the foreseeable future. Here are a few of my pics in no particular order.
Steve after May shouldn't be a problem for a while, looks like most of my reserve stuff is about to finish as they have just cut most of my work with them. My last work will be from 13-25 May then I will be free for a while till I find a new job.
