Lords Wood work party and photo's April 23~25 2021

Went up to lords wood the other day, reason was twofold. I Had a job for my wheelbarrow, and check out the access. Amazing what a bit of sun and wind can do, top meadow back to normal. :) bluebells and trees sprouting quickly too can't wait for the meet!

Another bit of useful info, the landlord of the horse and jockey pub has agreed to us using the pub car park if we ever have an access issue again. There may be a small fee have yet to discuss that with him, but rather that than miss a meet. ;)
Hi Steve, How would my big van go on down those tracks? I struggled at times at NW as you know.
When parked at the pub (by prior arrangement) I assume one can just enter the woods by the pub?

The new venue looks cracking mate BTW!!

In fine normal weather you would have no issues, the circumstances that led to problems last winter were exceptional. We do have the option of using the pub car park if there is a repeat, but not a card i want to play ad hoc.

Do we have the option of camping in the copse Steve?

I might be able to pursuade (how do you spell it!) Hannah to come if we can, she is not so keen on the dark woods :)

Hello could you clarify a couple of things
1. Are the vehicles close by so we can bring anything that fits in the vehicle as opposed to being a trek away and having to carry stuff in?
2. What tools are you expecting e.g. Hand tools or petrol brushcutter / chainsaw?
Thanks

Parking is close so yes bring the kitchen sink. If you have a chainsaw great, otherwise anything that will process wood from wrist to waist size, or just a willing pair of hands is fine too. Its a new wood to us so we have work to do. :)

Update on access,

spoke to the farmer today, he has repaired the bend in the track and the rest of it is in great condition all the way to the wood. Newbies look at the map on post 1 link and follow the sign from the farm. Looking forward to a great weekend fellas! :)
