Hi Guys,

First I hope this the right place to post this thread I wasn't quite sure were to put this request so I thought this would do. Feel free to move it to better place if I'm wrong.

Anyway back to mey request. I known a few of you guys are from up North and may be able to help me.

I am looking for a list of campsites that are either scout run or scout friendly that will offer us some good bivvy sites and possible and do not essential some water sports.

I have tried to get some info from the organisation here but they are well slow so I thought I'd ask here. All I need is a name and contact number a grid reference would be great as well if you have one.

Many Thanks in advance for your help and if you every need any help down here just give me a shout.

James

Thanks for the info.

James

Anyhwere else you can recommend. It really is an area that many of the scouts have not visited and as we are only a an hour away from the Mourne's (You can see them on clear day rolling down to the sea) it really is a shame we don't get out there more often.

Again Thanks for the help.

James

hi james ,i was at crawfordsburn a couple of weeks ago.i just phoned them as i wanted somewhere to light a ground fire and bivvy as well.i used to be a scout and my son still is . they were very friendly and helpfull and the site is superb and close to the sea. i also saw a loy of canoes but dont presume to know about their availability etc. the scout shop in belfast gave me their number,i,ll try to look it out 4 you.
also ,i would pm this guy as he,s a scout leader up there and im sure he could help.
see next thread as i cant remember his name.

ok dood his name is Nyogtha13.
by the way this place is superb and i mean SUPERB!!!
also i believe that the forrestry commision has a standard policy of no fires,at least thats what i was told when i phoned tullymore and castlewellan,
scouts being a social kinda group should probably bombard you with info and i reccomend giving the scout shop a bell.
