Hi everyone,
I'm running an archaeology experiment next week for our funded project Life at the Cutting Edge, and am looking for volunteers in the Southampton area to come in for 90 minutes. It will involve using stone tools and taking a dexterity test and some hand measurements, and being hooked up to some motion capture technology in the biomechanics lab! Please email me at c.m.cuthbertson@soton.ac.uk if interested
As bushcrafters are probably good with their hands it should be interesting... and if you're not good with your hands that helps too as we want a range of dexterities...
If you wish you could join but can't, please follow the project along on our Facebook group here :welcome1: : https://www.facebook.com/groups/713602575471748/
We post pictures and our plans as they happen, so you can see how the experimental project was put together and how it's progressing... we'll also be running a workshop later on on the topic of identifying skill and experience in stone tool usewear, and it will be free and open to the public.
Hope you can join us at some point!
