Hi, Im looking for a decent 3-4 day off the grid hike anywhere in the UK.

I have decent bushcraft and hiking experience but am looking for a real challenge, I would love nothing more than to spend 3-4 days with nothing but my kit and a sat phone in case of trouble.

Any suggestions are welcome
Alf

The Knoydart area of Scotland is pretty well off grid. Not all that easy to get to unless you can drive. Getting up there from London is probably best done as a two day affair, with a stop in the Lake District.

Have you seen the http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php website, there are probably some better route planners out there, but it isn't bad to give an idea of distance and elevation change.

Walkhighlands website gives a full list of all of Scotland's Great Trails, including maps, reviews, gradings and downloadable GPX files.

You should definitely find something there, and most of all, responsible wild camping is also legal in most areas.

Thanks,

Allan
