For a variety of reasons we didnt get to the archery meet, but did go out with the brother in law and his son canoeing on Loch Lomond...

Very good weather, not to busy once the hire boats went away.

We stayed overnight on "wallaby island" and had several wallabies visiting the camp as well as geese making a racket...

The boys had a great time, Joe had his first night in a hammock...

and we marooned Jack...

Thanks for the comments, it was this weekend..
We had eaten the bulk of the food so the wallabies went hungry ;-)
We did see a few canoers and waved/spoke to a few.
We were on the south end of Inchconnachan looking towards Inchmoan, we had a look at Inchlonaig and the little castle on Inchgalbraith as well...

That's where we were too.

Did you see the memorial for the wee lad?
Wondered about that and said a private prayer for him and his family.

The memorial is called "Wee Peter" and it's an urban myth about a young boy drowning in the bay.It was put in the loch by a Builder from Luss who made his fortune in London and brought it back with him when he retired and moved home again. It used to sit on a sandbank elsewhere on the loch but a few boats came a cropper on it so it was moved to Bandry bay where it now stands.

Wow, cheers Dazcon. Not the story I expected to hear at all.

Looks perfect John.
...and as nice as the archery meet was there were a few wistful comments about how nice a day it'd have been to be out on the water.
