Making memories since '67
May as well add my 2p ;) Here is my blogg from SotP

Due to the roadworks we were a little due to the roadworks but it was worth the wait.

Only Red Kite and his dog Toby managed to join us. Of course us was Warthog1981, my two daughters, Kes a friends dog we were dog-sitting and Bes another friends dog we were babysitting.

So with the food pack our canoe was well loaded but since Graeme forgot his camera you will never see how full :D

At the out in ready for the off you could see it was going to be a good day for a paddle.

Graeme says it has been a while since he has been out but he should remember this paddling lark.

Russell gets into this picture taking lark.

The reflections were very strong

I think Graeme is enjoying himself. Even Toby seems to be enjoying the paddle.

Of course it is soon time to stop for lunch. Graeme studies his impressive brass paperweight while my child slaves prepare the pizzas (one would not be enough:))
14_10_08_06.jpg

After pizzas we make a cake. This had some unusual properties and required all of Russell's strength to mix. I think he has some pictures of how it turned out. I will leave others to comment on this.

While we ate Kes was retrieving sticks from the water as if his life depended on it
14_10_08_08.jpg

Lunch over we headed off to explore the rest of the Loch.
14_10_08_09.jpg

This gives a bit of an idea of how full our canoe was.
14_10_08_10.jpg

We had to stop have a look at the totem, before we headed off down the narrows.
14_10_08_11.jpg

While the girls built dams Russell had a go in Graeme's canoe. We tried it tandem as well. It is a work of art and very fast but felt very tippy compared to the prospector.
14_10_08_12.jpg

I may have mentioned it was pretty calm :D
14_10_08_13.jpg

Down through the narrows we explored the river and the small lochs. The Autumn colours were superb and the still water reflected this completely.
14_10_08_14.jpg

All to soon it was time to paddle back to the cars. Once loaded up we had a last brew and some biscuits before heading home.

As I have said it was a superb day. Paddling a great loch in ideal conditions with good friends. If only every day could be like this.
