My wife and I decided we would like to enjoy the outdoors more, that put us on a road to consider camping, bush craft etc.

Well we managed to cobble some kit together to make it happen. A freind of ours suggested a farm that allows campfires, privacy and all the good stuff. It also has basic facilities like running water, so I thought this was a good place to start.

The farm btw is Little Ropers in Bures, Suffolk and I cannot praise them enough, the farmer is awesome and cant do enough for you.

We combined the trip with a nice little day hike and met up with a buddy there too.

Below are some videos we made with my phone that hopefully gives a sense of the weekend. My wife and I are hooked now, one of the best weekends we have had in ages. We learnt a lot of lessons, what to pack what not to pack, basic skills like firestarting, chopping wood etc.

Anyway, here are some short videos for you to enjoy. Please subscribe if you want to, it would make our day. Or drop a comment to say hi if you wish also.

Yeah we really enjoyed ourselves. We are totally hooked lol and already looking at our next adventure.
I think our next adventure will be a day hike around Dovedale or something like that. I broke my 16 year old sleeping bag on that camp and to be most of our gear is heavy to take backpacking at the moment. Not to bad for 'wild' camp sites but too much to carry up and down dale. So at the moment overnighters will have to wait a little while to allow me to save up and get new gear.
Im desperate for:
Sleeping bags (his and hers)
Sleeping mats
Rucksacks (his and hers)
Cooking system.

Other than that lol we're good to go :)

At least you are getting out with the stuff you have. When I was younger I didn't have much stuff but more time to get out, now I have more stuff but less time to escape - guess which one I'd rather pick...
