We settled with red food dye and washing up liquid and the gent was convinced his toilet was possessed.

I seem to remember something like that at the old Polytechnic of Wales in Pontypridd in the 80s. Only instead of a toilet it was the waterfall and ponds outside G block! A dozen bottles of Fairy later and it was Christmas in the sun!
