'The Jungle is Neutral' by Freddie Chapman, what a wonderful book, and a real hero

Go on, one of you buy it please, you won't regret it

Look out for books by the same author such as 'Memoirs of a Mountaineer'

Indeed Richard, 'Freddy' Chapman is one of my all time fav 'people i'd like to meet', a total legend with an amazing wilderness expedition and survival history, i could read his books time and time again, this book kept me company on a jungle trip some years ago and set the imagination roaring in the long hammock nights with the rain hitting the tarp,

Other classics in the above list is the 'book of the bivi', an awesome book, 'Sandakan - a conspiracy of silence' again another fav about the survival of pows of the borneo death march in the second world war, 'a dragon apparant' is also a fav about the history of vietnam, cambodia and laos, its emperors, slaves and occupiers, all these books have kept me company in my doss bag at sometime or another and been a massive inspiration !!

Freddy went through all that he did, then shot himself dead, what a bloody shame. I've often wondered why no film or good television series was made about this man's life ? I doubt modern viewers would believe the tale is the answer in my opinion
