Yep, LePrevo is probably your best bet. About 3mm should do you depending on the knife that's going into it.

I use Le Prevo but you have to buy a whole shoulder so you are looking at over £30.

But Attleborough Accessories do some 12" squares.

They are a bit thin so I would be tempted to use a liner like the ones used in a lot of scandi sheaths. I have not used them for leather but have had good service for other stuff in the past.

Yeah, I just got some seconds called 'columbo' off Le Prevo. They are about 10ft sq, and cost £21ish for 2.5mm thick. Odd bit of scuff mark on, but only in a couple of places. Still loads of area to work with for me as I'm just starting out. Good service also.
