I have a excess of these at the moment, when I'm making other leather items any small offcuts I stamp with my handle shape marker and then roughly cut out and put them in a bag for later.
The shape is 20mm wide and 35mm long, with a line in the middle that I punch out depending on the size of the knife blade tang.

There is 200 grams here, should be plenty for a couple of knife handles.

As I understand it any newbie knife maker intending on sanding the handle ought to know to wear a mask if they plan on sanding to finish. Leather dust is a known carcinogen which can lead to cancer around the nasal area and lungs.
