Leather sheath

Hi folks,

I'm looking to make a leather sheath for my newly made knife but there are so many different grades and types I'm a bit unsure As to what to use and where to buy it?
Does anyone have previous experience as yo making them? Perhaps you could point me in the right direction?

3mm veg tan leather, and tools can be found on Ebay. Tandy and Leprovo are also worth checking out.
