Leather recycling advice

Hi all,

I'm currently recycling the leather from my old Para boots in order to make some small knife pouches, fix my present boots etc.

I have been taking out the stiches and removing the leather carefully panel by panel.

My question is; does anyone have any tips on how to remove the glue residue on the inner side of the leather? will white spirit do it?

I'd be grateful for any advice and to hear from people who've done the same.
