OK, my apologies for some crappy photos in bad light.
I have runbbed each knife down with WD40 and a soft cloth. There are some blotches on the Microtech, but they are I think stains, they have been there ages and are not corroding over time.
Both knives bought from makers around 2000.
Hopefully this clarifies things but feel free to ask anything else.
