I like carving spoons out of laburnum. It's a lovely grain pattern and the contrast between heart wood and sap wood is beautiful.

I have increased the amount of carving I have been doing recently as I have been putting a few different carving tools through their paces.

Finished Spoon. This one took a couple of hours whilst talking to the public at the Countryside Show.

The majority of the carving was done with this carver.

Despite the variety, I can see a few design elements in your spoons, a glimmer of a style! Great!
Next up, how about some forks with no more than 3-4 tines. Also, you're got the skill to carve some dishes.
I think wooden bread serving bowls never fail.
