So Should i go for the wooden or plastic handle
Thats really a matter of personal taste.... some peoples hands fit particular knives better than others. As they are both £10 or less, why not get both and decide for yourself .... you'll then have a backup knife to keep in your pack just in case ;)

The plastic handle has a small finger guard, very useful if it is your first knife.
The tang, for non knife person like myself, is the bit of the blade that goes into the handle. :D

I find the Clipper a bit more comfortable. Not much difference in the 2 IMO, just the Clipper handle feels better: rubberised (ish) and a good profile on it, instead of a plasticy Mora ... Or are we talking wooden handled Mora's?

A few of my students have taken to putting a length of bicycle innertube on their mora handles to improve the grip.... it gives excellent grip when wet. (thats on a plastic handled mora, not the wooden one)

That's true, Scandinavian grinds are very easy to sharpen. Is it because they have no secondary bevel? Or am I wrong on this statement?

Adam

My experience with the Scandi blades is that they come both ways. All three of my Mora's have a minute secondary bevel.

Sharpening is a breeze with W/D paper, steel, stone or charged strop. I put an initial razors edge on the blade and then touch it up during use with a strop.

As said earlier
www.baconsdozen.co.uk/knives.htm. Gives you both clippers and a plastic handled one. Plastic £5 Carbon £6 and SS £8. Postage is £1.50. I bought Carbon and SS and postage was still £1.50. Think this must be best prices in the UK. Plus there are a lot more knives on site including folders. More than worth a look.

Its also worth giving them a ring or email to check their clearance offers.... you never know you may be lucky and come away with a real bargin.
