Don't have access to a camera ATM (I'll try and sort it this weekend) but can give a list of kit I used last week for a 2-nighter (summer):
All kit in 2 Lowe Alpine sidepouches (20 ltr)
Left:
- Softie Elite sleeping bag
- 2 boil in bag meals (diner)
- Trangia burner, Hexi-stove, Hexi & Meths (hexi as back-up, I only carry a small Meths bottle)
Right:
- Crusader mug & waterbottle (filled to the rim)
- DPM bivvy bag (british army)
- Jiffy bag with: folding throwl, pack of tissues, sterigel, matches, lighter
- 1 breakfast (boil in bag)
- ziplock bag with teabags, sugar & snacks (candy, salami, 1/2 cucumber)
- Thermo-short (long sleeve)
- Pair of socks
- Diagonally strapped on the outside: 3/4 TaR sleeping mat (wrapped in Aus cam poncho for protection)
In Smock (Arktis Windsmock):
- Starchart (I'm working my way around nighttime navigation
- Knife with DC4 sharpening stone
- Fire flash (ferro rod)
- Lighter
- Button compass (to check direction with starchart)
- Pack of tissues
- Petzl headtorch
- Personal medication
- Coghlans FAK (#2) - (adjusted contents to my needs)
- Spoon
- Waterfilter
Didn't use a map / (big) compass as I was on familiar grounds
Well, I've made some piccies - but they are too small and too dark. Will try again tomorrow morning in daylight. I'll edit this post and put in the good pics. Also edited my previous post in the quote as I forgot some kit
Stay tuned
EDIT:
Pictures:
Small stuff:
Big stuff:
TaR wrapped in poncho and attachd to sidepouches
Backside, note the carryingstraps - I organised my sidepouches as I carry them normally: 1 always ready as daypack (10ltr), other on rucksack
NOT in these pictures: Esbit / Meths + stoves, rations (eaten them), button compass & starchart, pair of socks, lighter
I can highly recommend the Lowe Alpine rucksacks (I've got the Sting). Main pack: 55 ltr + 2x 10ltr sidepouches. Superior backsystem.
You can make rucksack configurations of 10 ltr, 20ltr, 55ltr or 75ltr
Next step is to get all my stuff (strap it down even more) in 1x 10ltr pouch
