Anyone else see Kings of the wild on Discovery channel. Entertaining and a new take on bushcraft/outdoor living.
Think I recognized the leatherwork that the chef had as a batbelt for his condiments. Perhaps someone here may know.

Was interesting, I watched it on now TV last night. The kiwi carries basic hunting equipment and the chef carries a dutch oven and some basic ingredients. Good idea to just live off the land like kings rather than making up cheesy dangers. Will be interested to see where they got the kit from.

Watched episode 3 last night and still enjoying it. Am cynical of some of the show as it is discovery. For example in tonight's show they lost the dutch oven and canoe. However it looked scripted as it was a chance for them to show how to cook and make a raft out of bamboo.
But as a show it has more of a focus on eating well rather than doing stupid things, which is a good move.

It certainly made me laugh as the dutch oven floated gently down the stream. Enjoying it.

Well I can tell you that those big knibes that they are both sporting, the Bowles with the strange "S" guards are Svord von Tempsky blowies, with L6 11 inch blades, full tang triple riveted (loveless bolts) wood slabs for handles, but I think the sheaths may be custom jobs, I think I may have also spotted a Svord drop point hunter as well.

Would love to know what the Dutch oven is...
