cheers, guys.
its unbelivably sharp, i honed it once upon arrival and its now like a bic razor.
i can hold a hair out loose and free hanging, and sever it by just brushing the edge past the hair. its so rediculosuly sharp im scared to touch the edge lol.
ive already nicked my finger.

I'd say good review but I can't listen to it because my laptop has no sound. Nice knife though, sure is sharp. I also don't think the pictures of it on Kellams site do justice to the grain of the handle. It looks a lot better in person.

Oh yes, what a great review of that knife! Thanks! I´ve been looking at Kellam knives for a while now, and I must ask about the spine of the blade, is it hard enough for a firesteel?

yes but its rounded, if you filed it and got a nice sharp edge it would throw sparks.

The Wolverine was my first Bushcraft knife.

It throws a good lot of sparks when the back is squared off.

I did use it for battoning once but the copper collar cracked and a very faint movement is felt in the blade when using it.

I do not know if that was my poor technique or a fault in the knife.

The knife still does all general jobs but I do not batton with it anymore.

Thanks for that information.
I also used to baton with my knives but avoid it nowadays. Not that the knives broke or so, but I got a feeling that batoning puts a lot of stress on the blade. I have seen pics on other knife forums where sturdy blades have broken when batoning. (ok, perhaps heat treatment failure, but still)
So I don´t baton large firewood, only smaller limbs if I don´t have axe or saw with me.
Now let´s see where I can find a Wolverine...

ive found it ok for battoning, althogh i tend to use my BG Damasus if i dont have a golok, as a full tang gives me a bit more secrity.

How thick is the blade (over spine)?

my Bernie garland is 4mm with a tapered tang, althogh i actaly prefer 3mm as it cuts better, however the BG is an amazing knife, an absaloute joy to use for carving spoons, feathersticks and other bushcrafty stuff, its my favorite all purpose knife ATM.
however the wolverine slices better due to the 3mm blade, if i had to have only one tool it would be my BG as its bombproof. the wolverine is the best scandinavian knife i own, and i have lots of scandinavian knives.
