Hi!

Paul Kirtley, who is didactical pretty good, recently wrote a book about axes.
I don't own it but it's surely worth to read.

(If I remember it right he mentioned in a video that he will sign it, if you buy it directly from him. I assume that such exemplars will get a financial value over the years, by the way.)

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.....
I've joined to tap into the wealth of info on here.kit upgrades, sharpening, and tips with uses.
I have limited camp time but looking to develop that as my skills are primarily on wood processing for the huge open fire I need to feed....
this in turn has led to basic bush crafting that I have found both interesting and therapeutic.
My kit right now includes a silky bigboy saw, helko woodworkers axe, skrama, hb hatchet, condor woodbuster, Becker bk21 kukri (my new toy) and various small fixed and folding knives.
All used on rotation depending on requirements during visits to the woods....with or without my two nutty dogs....
I currently plough through this forum and u-tube to find the info I didn't know I needed...

I've watched and followed Paul for some time now, despite my confidence with an axe, there's always something to learn, or relearn as the case may be.
There's good stuff coming from you guys, Happy to have finally joined.
