Is That A Firesteel??

although it looks real long, the details say it is good for 12,000 strikes, just like the "normal" length army fire steels!
i have to admit though it does look much longer than the "norm".

i was given one by a USAF survival kit servicer which measuers in at!

and it's just over 1.2 cm thick!(0.5")

and no i don't know where to get one from!
and it hasn't got a name or any manufacture stamp or any identifiable feature, i

Butt If it is a BIG one. I think its better to strike it than the small one. NOT that the small one won't do the job

Wow, that's a BIG firesteel. It makes mine look like a children's toy I was duped when I ordered mine from MEC though, the photo was deceiving! I assumed that the one I was looking at was the army model, but when it arrived it turned out to be the scout model which is quite a bit smaller. Oh well, for ten bucks I can't complain.

These are half-inch diameter and a little more than 4 inches long.
I've got one but find myself carrying a Light My Fire Scout model most of the time as the big firesteel is heavy and a bit of overkill for a trip to the store.

it looks, sonds and, acts like one!
it's just.....a very, very, big one in girth and length
! s'funny how people think they can "make-up" for lack of size, if it was the case then why is everyone quick to defend their own tool?
