To ask a silly question...

Would it be possible to make a light sabre..
What i mean is what stops the laser light at the end of the 'sabre'..and....
is a laser light finite i.e. what's it's 'throw' ?

More importantly, What wood would you do the handle in, What profile would you use Clip/Drop point or Tanto?!?
Also if you can control the length/throw of the "blade" what would your ideal Light Sabre grind be ?!?
Also also. . Would you choose the Carbonite (red) blade or the obviously stainless blue?!?

Me, Well I think a nice Carbonite, Scandi, Drop point in curly Birch.

Hmmn I can see it now :D

Hopefully the laser would take the point and grind automatically to the task in question.
As for red or blue ..depends on salinity of atmosphere,as does handle scales.

Mind you, butchering an alien squirrel may produce a particularly nasty acidic blood type,so thought needed there...:You_Rock_
