Hey guys,
I found this wood a while back and started making spoons and bowls from it yet still cant figure out what type of wood it actually is, and I thought some of you might know the answer to that,
as it was pre felled in winter I had nothing but the wood to go on, yet It had some pretty distinct features first of all, when wet it has a real pinkish colour in it heartwood, also it gives a Vinegar kind of smell, It also is quite fibrous a bit comparable to Oak, but then less brittle-hard.
I will be posting some pictures soon from a log with the bark that has been split.
Yours sincerely Ruud
