The biggest threat to the future of the pure wildcat is cross breeding with ferals.

No idea, but I'm hardly a specialist... Wikipedia suggests that both ligers and tigons are both viable and fertile, at least occasionally.

I suspect that widlcats and moggies are more analogous to wolves and dogs though.
