I am not sure if this is the right place for this posting, but I am sure one of the mods can help put it in the right place.............

I was given this idea by my daughter, and if it can be used by more and more people then it could help our Emergency services find the people we know should we have an accident, they may have information that these services need.

So here is the idea.......

I.C.E.

So what is I.C.E. well it is very simple, thats why I was told! you put it in front of the family phone numbers on your mobile phone... Real easy... What does I.C.E. stand for... In Case of Emergency...

So, for example, I.C.E. 1 WIFE 0771234567
I.C.E. 2 PARENTS 022345678

I am sure you get the idea...

So if you are injured and the medics cannot ID you and you have your mobile with you they just check your I.C.E. Numbers and they will find some one who knows you well.

Keep it in mind, it may one day save your life.....

It's a good idea LS,
I heard this on the radio about a year ago so now all mobiles in the house have ICE numbers.

Well worth the bump to get it known about.

Good idea.

It was started by an east anglian paramedic who could never work out who to 'phone when dealing with casualties.

He reckoned that if he could look for a specific listed set of numbers on a mobile it would save time and sometimes shock to elderly or infirm relations.

The ICE gives you your choice of who you want to be 'phoned in the event of a serious accident.

Don't forget home/work/mobile combinations.

one thing i noticed when I put an ICE number in my phone was that when my wife called me the call ID displayed ICE this anoyed me just a bit . I had a little play with my phone and put a # in front of the number now i get the correct call id and i still have my ICE numbers

great idea tho still, the more attention it gets the better IMO, all my family have it setup, i am surprised the mods havent made this a sticky yet, and it doesnt appear when you search ICE either.
