Was up as a friends place today getting a new signed permission to shoot on her paddock to clear out pesky bunnies. "oh.." she says go and speak to Jim down the way - he needs them sorted too". "Great" says I. Then the best bit - "The lady up on the hill has some land you might want to speak to her too...".
Again, great - but what I don't realise is that the land also contains about 20 acres of mixed woodland. So I go and speak to her and ta-dah - a new bushcraft playground for me. Yes I can go when I want - yes I can have fires, camp and generally look after it for her. The price I have to pay - keep an eye on it when she is away...
So - two new shooting permissions and a new woodland to use. Guess how much I've been grinning today....
