Hi can anyone help me with any information on an axe I bought this weekend? It's a hults bruks axe with the numbers 1.75 4 on one side and HB on the other i bought it to have a go at restoring but would also like to know as much about it as possible. Many thanks

Sounds like a nice project.
Post a few pics of the axe and show it to the community.
Then, when you've restored it , post some more pics.
Like the " before & after " pics...

HB are the obvious initials and 1.75 4 I'm guessing it's the weight and size of the axe bit, but I might be wrong. :)

As 1.75 kg weight and 4 inches of cutting edge.

I'm just guessing though , as I don't own one of those and know very little about them
...

More answers will follow shortly...

Ah , of course, silly me.
I forgot you're a newcomer, no worries , soon you'l be allowed and it will be great to see your labour on this axe.
Was the edge 4" and the weight right?
I'm surprised no one replied yet...
This reply should bump it to the top and hopefully someone will come and shed some light on those markings...

I have a Hults bruk marked 0.7 and 1 1/2 underneath. I have been told this is the weight of the head only, in Kg and lbs respectively. Mine is a small hatchet size. 12" or so long.
