I have a laminated Frosts Mora and it says 'laminated steel' on it. The wooden handle is stained (not painted) red.

You can also see the laminations on the bevel when sharpening.

Wrap the blade in tissue soaked in malt (chippie) vinegar. the blade turns two different shades, usualy with a black line up the back of the blade and black cutting edge (until you polish the edge) with grey sides.
If yoou do not like the effect - I do - vinegar patination can be polished off with a bit of work!

I did this and you will see the results on a post I made about my Mora knife. It is quite striking.
