Make you castings in Alcan "Slide" aluminum foil, it is as non-stick as Teflon.
Joe: what proportions of fat/resin would make a good glue? I have bear, elk, bison, lamb, pork fats & beeswax.

Cut 2 whorls of big branches off my 3 front spruce trees last summer.
They have been bleeding ever since. The resin drips are as brittle as glass at -25C.
Should have a week after New Year's to pick off lots of it.
Would like to use it in shafting crooked knives for wood carving.

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
You would'nt be able to use it for fire starting I don't think as all the flamables will have burned off. What you could do is mix it with crushed charcoal and a bit of beeswax and make a very good glue. Fill a hollow elder branch with it or make a glue stick. I use it quite often and it works a treat.

I've been using refined resin for donkies years as a fire-starting/lighting aid:confused:
