I got a cheap Froe recently and it's in the kit bag for this weekend. There is no handle for it yet, so I'll try the 'make one when you get on site' jobbies.
At the moment it has a bevel, but not much of an edge. I had a little play and it'll split quite happily once it has bitten, which takes a bit of hitting (green Hazel about 100mm/4" across).
So, how sharp should a Froe be?
