How far would you travel for a Christmas tree?

I bring a branch back from every river I canoe abroad to make a spoon or mini paddle. No whole trees yet though.

I like that idea, a very nice connection to places you've been other than just photos. And much better than souvenirs.

I won't get mine until next week. However I did go with my daughter and SIL as well as Barbara today to get theirs. A few miles back into the Eglin Reservation we found the first one that we cut for Barbara. About a mile back towards home we cut one for the kids.

Cost of the permits? $1 each. The kids have theirs up in the living room but not yet decorated as of the time Nikole posted it on FB; bear in mind, these are wild trees, not groomed farm raised Christmas trees:
