help to identify this fungi

hi i have found this fungus on a living tree and would just like some help identifying it and any uses

i'm only new to bushcraft but have n't seen fungus the size of these there over a foot wide easy

thanks for any help i'm sure it'll be easy for people on here but i have no idea

That is Dryad's Saddle. Seems to be a lot of new growth of it at the moment

cheers for that just googled it and by the sounds of it they don't make the best eating so may pass

Young ones are fine to eat.
