Hi all,
I am looking to get away at the weekend to the land of "right to roam". We usually travel via canoe whilst up north but with a lack of canoe space for all four of us we have decided to have a trip on foot. There will be 2 seasoned bushy types and 2 new to wild camping.
We are aiming to get to somewhere as close to the borders as possible as our time will be limited. We intend to be around the borders by mid afternoon on the Friday and leave late afternoon on the Sunday. Ideally we are looking for a nice Forest/river/Loch walk, wild life spotting and wild camping over the two nights.
If anyone has any local knowledge of the Galloway area or somewhere nice just north of the border i would really appreciate any info or advice you could give.
Thanks for reading.
