Hi All,

I am not very up to date with these MOLLE pouches and such like. I have recently acquired a Arcteryx LEAF Echo pack, which is great, however I am looking to attach side pouches (similar to PLCE) to increase the capacity.

It has the MOLLE straps on the side but no side zips. So my question is...Are there pouches out there like the PLCE which can attach to the MOLLE system? I don't like the idea of lots of smaller pouches as its not a versatile for my needs.

Here is a link to pictures of the rucksack.

Many Thanks,

You'll find the horizontal straps on your pack that you're referring to as MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Loadbearing Equipment) as actually called PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System) - They are 2 parts of the same system). Any pouch that is MOLLE compatible should attach to the PALS webbing, looking for 2 vertical straps on the reverse of the pack, typical with a popper closer at the bottom:

These will thread through the PALS webbing and snap shut.

Here is a few pouches that will work with the sytem (exclusing the PLCE Side Pockets):

If you're handy with a sewing machine, you could make 2 pieces of webbing, a YKK Vislon #10v and a popper and make removable side pocket zipping points.

I picked up two Sustainment pouches and all in with postage was £30.
Yes some are silly with the post, but can be had for a fair price and
I've yet to find any in the UK. A search for
MOLLE II pouches can throw up some.

I know it may be a little late to recommend something, but you may check out these links:
https://shop.vtarmynavy.com/alice-pack-add-a-pouch-p4945.aspx | It is made for ALICE packs, but decent price for brand new and you can convert to PALS/MOLLE with malice clips and such.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en/bestsearch/plce?q=plce | Dirt cheap PLCE pouches on this page, some are PALS/MOLLE compatible. There are lots of pouches of variety on this site, although they must be shipped from Finland or Sweden

I love the FILBE sustainment pouches myself, I can fit my entire Swedish Army Trangia kit inside or my Biolite stove with wood/fuel and food. I move it from my main USMC pack (FILBE) to my USMC (FILBE) assault pack depending on what I'm doing. I love the collar on it that you can cinch the contents of the pouch securely. It only comes in Coyote Brown, though, which is fine with me since I love that color.
