Hi all,
Just got round to joining the forum although I have been a reader for a long time.
I am based outside of Birmingham (Stourbridge) in the West Midlands. I absolutely love wild camping although now I have a family these kind of trips are limited to a couple of times a year.
I have a passion for the outdoors and still manage to get plenty of 'normal' camping done with my family every year.
I love making use of whats around me when camping rather than bringing lots of kit along and especially like building shelters although again this kind of stuff has taken a back seat over the last few years!
I like basic, old kit and ideas as well as the new tech that's becoming more popular and look forward to comparing notes with some like minded people.
For me, the ideal weekend away is a hike to a remote spot, a basic discrete camp over night making use of the surroundings, with a hike back the following morning - frosty but sunny
