I'm a big fan of the pattern 58 bag - the waterproof base keeps your back warm and the shape and central zip are great for a hammock - was out in it 4 days ago and was lovely and warm. Well worth a try if you're looking for an all weather bag. In extreme (sub 4 degrees C) I add a fleece blanket and a ilk liner

I hope my £80 Softie Kestral bag dosn't "go thin" after 3 years!

I'd be extermely surprised if it did, especially if it has been stored correctly.

My Ben Harris (now called Snugpak) synthetic bag is 15+ years old and is still in great condition.

Rated to-10c comfort, I used it in March this year at about -5 and slept in my boxers and a t-shirt.
