I should add that the lanyard is nettle cordage and his eyes are coloured with elderberry.

It is a lovely stick, and I like it a lot. Just my silly sense of humour.

I am a bit concerned that Jon had that silly picture immediately to hand though. It would take most normal people ages to find a shot like that.

Ah I think Mr D collects such things. He has probably been waiting years for a suitable occasion to bring that one out. You should be glad to have provided the opportunity for him.

Like it very much. You should drill a small hole at its mouth and glue in a. Length from a small rubber band, that would just finish it. You could split the band to give it a forked tongue. (Just my daft sense of humour) Cheers Mate.

My little one suggested the very same thing. She even proffered a black loom band for the job.

I still want to make the pupils of the eyes black. I need something like black paint from a natural source. Something that I can apply accurately which won't seep into the wood grain.
