Hi all, I’m a big fan of my Mora Garberg. I’ve owned a carbon version for several years and it’s my “go to” camp knife. For me personally… it ticks pretty much all boxes. So much so that I recently purchased a stainless version for using in generally wetter conditions HOWEVER… the new stainless model appears to have a significantly larger ricasso than My older carbon model and it’s something I’m not massively delighted with. Is anyone aware of a design/profile update over the years or is this potentially an imperfection in the one I happened to have purchased?? Please see images below.

Thanks
Dan

With a factory as big as Mora I’m guessing it’s a case that it’s different production lines which is causing a bit of difference with the machining.

There was a brief period a few years back when some really bad moras slipped through with horrendous grinds. It’s a mass produced knife, so a change in
Machinery , programming, even steel variations within set parameters can tweak the original.
You have TWO fine knives there
And that’s the only criteria not variable
