Hi Guys,

I've just joined this forum and thought I'd show off a few things I've made recently. I make handmade jewellery and dreamcatchers as a hobby. I'd like to hear peoples opinions on them as I would like to make a business out of it at some point. I have been doing jewellery making for several years now, starting off with basic bead stringing and then moving on to wire wrapping. I've just recently moved on to silversmithing, having done a two day course at Leeds Art College last year and now just teaching myself as I go along. I've also done a little lampworking (making glass beads) recently. I like to use natural materials where I can, I have a very extensive collection of semi-precious and precious stone beads which I use in my jewellery. I have also been making dreamcatchers for a few years now, since I was in school in fact where they won an award from the Young Enterprise Sheme (a business scheme for 6th formers where you create your own company and sell products you have made) for best product that year :)

So here are a few things I've made recently - any comments welcome!

Rachael.

Welcome to the forum.

My wife came into the room to tell me about how she wanted some amethyst and silver earrings as an anniversary present this year just as I opened this thread. She saw your dreamcatcher earrings and necklace and said "Oooh, they're nice"

You could be in business here... :)

I'd be interested in knowing more.

It was quite easy to make, the hardest part was arranging the branches once it was finished. From memory I had a couple of metres of old 10mm cable left over from fitting a shower. So roughly about 20 lengths of copper about a metre long.

Cool, I'll have to have a go one day. I love gemtrees.
