Handle glue

Oks so its Epoxy ie araldite etc

I want to colour it black as i have done some file work on the tang and wish to fill it to the liner What is the best thing to use to dye the glue and any specific brand of glue better than another ??

From various threads I've read on Knife-making forums (where folks are trying to colour the resin they make mosaic pins with), it seems the best source of black for those of us just doing it once or twice is to mix some photocopier toner in with the resin as you make it.

I've successfully mixed black enamel paint with Devcon but can't say it is the best way to go. Must try the above as always great to get such tried & tested tips. Clearly what you are looking for, other than for it to stay black in the mix, is not to affect the bonding properties. Cutting any mix back after application will reduce the 'gloss' effect that first greets you. Good luck.

I've had success with carbon fibre dust.

Ive used black leather dye which worked!

mostly I use thiryt year old kiddies powder paint but I've also used :

chalk dust
leather dye
dylon tablets (scraped a bit off)
charcoal
caligraphy ink

play with things, some affect the hardening time, some will also affect the strength and or the brittleness of the glue.

do They have a back room for legally showing shiny stuff and passing of nameless powders
