Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I'm glad there'll be folk wearing cloaks, tis a nice 'cock of the hat' to him And both themes fit them perfectly. I understand you made Drews cloak at the moot, Toddy? That must have been great fun, Eleanor was telling me how everyone took a go at seaming with you
I think we made fifteen cloaks in a day
Gilly Claycomb, bless her, spent ages re-doing the length of Drew's cloak. He had told me he was over 6', so I'd used my own broad shouldered six footer of a son as the model for a basic full cloak. Drew said that his Gran sewed, so she helped him finish the hem properly at home.
What does fret me is the thought of kids running around near fire wearing cloaks and blankets that aren't really safe. That's why I posted the thread about the wool cloaks for them.
There are another half dozen sitting here that I need to get photo'd and put up for sale; I had intended to bring them with me down to the Moot, but with the elderlies really frail (90 year old with a broken arm, etc., ) it's not happening this year.
