Hi folks!

I could use some assistance in where to wild camp in southern Scotland.
I'm from east Midland, Lincoln and I know Gretna Green isn't much of a drive from where I am.

Anyone know of anywhere around Gretna green or close area that I could do this? Or anyone from Lincolnshire that knows any close by wild camping places?

I don't want to be driving out to far as this is my first big trip for only 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance

Peace out ✌

Never used it for camping but - the site of the old military hospital at Nocton (6 miles South of Lincoln)
Take the B1188, drive past the Nocton turn, take the turn for Dunston all the way thru' Dunston, continuing on Dunston Fen Lane, you drive along the South side of Dunston Wood, there is a car-park and picnic area just on the edge of the wood, with a nice clean Dyke / water supply. (The Car Dyke)
The area is used by Dog walkers in Summer but most of the time is totally wild and desolate. Tuck up into the wood (about 2km x 2km) and no one will see you.
You can walk up towards Wasps -Nest to the site of the old priory and onto the old RAF / USAF Hospital

Its one of my walks.

That sounds like an interesting place to start Alan. Thank you very much.
I'll have a scout there this weekend
Just want somewhere to get my bearings and some more confidence hence why not wanting to go to far north too soon.
As long as there's a decent bit of woodland to hide away in. You can come for some bushcraft breakfast with the pup haha

Put into Google maps the co-ordinates
53.160410, -0.372183 (Picnic area car-park)

I find this Council provided mapping service excellent

Scroll down / zoom into area where you want and just follow the footpaths.
I am looking at the Viking Way for late in the year (when my back it sorted and I can stand up 'straight' again)
