Hello all,
Glad to find another place online to talk about bushcraft and outdoorsy activities!
One of my new years resolutions last year was to do six solo overnighters, I've done five so far so I'm on track to stick to that. I mostly go to the same spot as I don't drive, this place is easy to get to on the bus from where I live. Looking forward to adventuring further afield in the new year.
I've been keeping it quite simple so tarp camping, cooking, reading by the fire, that sort of thing. My bushcraft skills mostly just extends to firemaking, knots, making tent pegs and spatulas and stuff; but I have been getting quite into making my own gear, as well as altering and improving existing kit. I'm on the dole so I don't have a lot of money for high end equipment at the moment.
I really just enjoy being outside without much stuff, and still being able to make myself comfortable and have a nice time. As Mors Kochanski said: "The more you know, the less you carry".
Looking forward to learning a lot from you lot, and hopefully helping others out with the wee bit of knowledge I do have!

Welcome , sounds like you’ve got a plan . Are you able to get to Loch Lomond easily ?

Yeah that's one of the places on the docket! I'd like to do the West Highland Way which starts from around there, I need to build up my fitness for it a bit first though.

Quick question, how do you add that quote/signature to the bottom of your comments?
