Green Scythe Fair, Somerset Sunday 14th June 2020

  • BushMoot: Come along to the amazing Summer Moot 31st July - 5th August (extended Moot : 27th July - 8th August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
I'll be there. Are you going to camp over? I will be.... unless the weather looks dodgy in which case I'll be in my mates spare caravan just down the road.
Well worth a visit. Lots of nice second hand tools and other stuff for sale. Good music and food plus a bar.
This is not negotiable in my yearly itinerary. A must go to!

You will enjoy it. Bison bushcraft are usualy there too. Camping is available but you have to book that separately with the campsite.
As it's a green vibe you are encouraged to arrive in a green manner.
I suggest park a car in langport and take the lovely two miles walk along the river. Parking on the verge nearby is discouraged with bollards and cars have been removed from those areas in the past.
Also book your tickets in advance as there is a strict limit on the number of people allowed on site.
Two of my pals couldn't get in last year and we're turned away.
That said it's worth the effort to go.
You'll want a full day anyway as last year they had an extra field of traders so it's getting much bigger as it's so popular and getting more so.
Still a small festival though.

Aww, I looked it up, the camping etc and it clashes with our local wood fair, West’s. It would have made a good first leg in our campervan summer hols to get to Somerset.

Aw! That's a shame. Seems that quite a few of us are thinking of going.
Where are you planning to go on holiday in Somerset? Not Butlins I hope :) :) :)

:)

No, it won’t be Butlins. I’m originally from Bognor, Butlins is the last place I’d want to visit.

Not sure really, Somerset is an easy first days drive and opens up north Devon and Cornwall, or Wales and it’s coast. We’d probably carry on sort of north, my wife wants to go to The Lake District.

Tickets now available to book. £6.
It's £10 on the gate on the day by the way, so cheaper to get tickets up front.
