Had a lovely weekend a couple of weeks ago at a campsite at the base of the Cader Idris in mid Wales. The site, which is owned by Mr Nuttings (a wonderful old hill farmer), sits in the valley at the top end of the tal-y-llyn lake. He allows dogs and,,,,, Fires (hooray).
The site is split in 2, the bottom half is for caravans and campers and the top half for tents. There arn't really any hammock spots though, and you need to take your own fire wood. It really is a lovely spot, sitting below the Cader, there are spectacular views up the mountain and the main footpath up, starts about 200mtrs down the road.
Oh, and the tipi was great, but i still can't stop getting smoked out by the fire box (don't know what i'm doing wrong)
And some pics from the other side of the cader, up the fox track
If anybody wants to know any more about the site, just ask!
Cheers
