Hi,

Im after a bit of info on the bag shown below. Is the bag military issue, country of origin, I dont think its a UK bag.

As it shows in the photo its quite a big bivi, room in the top to put your bag and stuff in.

I would say this is a civilian manufactured bag made for the military market (hence DPM camo). If it was issued it would generally be unbranded and have a fabric patch with the Nato Stock Number etc.
Phoenix used to make good quality mountain tents so this bivi bag should also be good quality although it's probably a few years old. Back in the day a lot of the issue kit was rubbish so soldiers privately purchased better kit.
Did you get it second hand?

Hi,

Yeh I had it from a guy in the pub, I haven't used it since I've had it the last couple of years, but its as new, no tears or scuffs. If your saying its from the 80's I'd go as far to say its in mint condition considering its age !

Sounds like you got a good deal. A lot of old school military style kit was very good.

Phoenix had some good quality goretex gear in the early nineties. My goretex trousers are by them from that time and are still doing a grand job. Good find on the bag.
